Where the data comes from
Matches, teams, players, maps, bans and results come from FACEIT's public League pages, and are refreshed regularly. Hero comps, player attribution and in-game events are read from Overwatch replays by owdb's own capture tooling and checked by a person before they are published. Captures can still be wrong, and not every game is captured, so each page shows how many games sit behind a number.
owdb reports what happened. It does not tell a team what to ban, pick or target.
What is free
Everything that comes from FACEIT is free, and will stay free. Data captured from replays (heroes, comps, events) is free for now. Donations are welcome.
Privacy
Browsing owdb needs no account. The site sets no cookies and has no advertising or analytics scripts of its own. Your browser keeps small preferences (colour palette, last division, your team if you set one) on your own device only. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which sees ordinary web request logs like any host.
Signing in with Discord is optional and asks Discord for your public identity only (the identify permission: your Discord ID, username and avatar) — never your email, servers or messages. It is used to tell you apart when you report a map whose heroes look wrong. A report contains the map, the side, your optional note and your Discord name, and is sent to the owdb operator on Discord.
Player names and team names shown here are the ones those players and teams publish on FACEIT.
